Day 2
We were all pretty excited about the Vermont tour. We met at 7:30 AM, had some breakfast and then headed out. Fred was leading us. We had a nice ride up 9N to Route 22. Route 22 took us next to Lake Champlain. We then took Lake Road which continued to run alongside Lake Champlain through Adirondack Park. We continued on 903 and crossed Lake Champlain into Vermont and continued on 17. We took 17 to 22A to Rt. 7. We arrived at the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory.
After touring the factory (Nick was definitely the comedian with his DNR question), we decided to head out to Ben and Jerry's. John took one group on a faster ride and we opted for the slower more casually paced ride in order to enjoy the scenery. We also decided we would stop for lunch when we saw a place to eat. We continued on Rt. 7 to Marsett Rd. This road changed names a few times. We then turned on to Shelburne Hinesburg Rd. We continued on Shelburne Falls Rd. The road changed names a few times and we continued on Richmond Road. The roads seem to change names quite a lot. We continued on Hinesburg Road and turned on to Bridge Street. We took that to East Main street (Rt. 2). We stayed on Rt. 2 for a while and it ultimately ran parallel to I-89. We then turned on to Stowe Street to Waterbury Stowe Rd. We arrived at Ben and Jerry's. We never found a place to eat so we had ice cream for lunch. About 10 minutes after we arrived, the fearless crew arrived from their ride.
We took a tour of Ben and Jerry's and decided to head to the ferry to take it back to New York. We took I-89 north to Burlington. Unfortunately, we missed the ferry and the next one was almost 2 hours later. So we decided to go to 15 miles to Charlotte to catch a different ferry that runs every half hour. Luckily we made the next ferry and traveled back to Essex New York.
We took Rt. 22 to Cr-59 to 9N. We had hoped to barbeque but got back too late. So we decided to go to dinner in Bolton Landing again.
